Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an increasingly prevalent opportunistic human pathogen, is the most common Gram-negative bacterium found in nosocomial, or hospital-acquired infections. This germ is common in the environment, found in water and soil, and is often the cause of “hot tub rash”.
