Small Lymphocyte

– most common agranulocyte
– slightly larger than RBC, nucleus takes up most of cell
– large numbers migrate in and out of tissues and lymphoid tissue
– few circulate in blood
– some attack foreign cells, others secrete antibodies into circulation
– 2 types: T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes
– most specialized; don’t really “kill” anything
– flag pathogens or recruit more WBC
