Hymenolepis nana:
- eggs are usually spherical transparent
- 30-47 µm in diameter
- hyaline shell is thin
- contain a 6-hooked oncosphere.
- polar filaments(4-8 ) which are found between the developing embryo and the egg shell.
Hymenolepis diminuta :
- spherical form and yellow-transparent cover
- 70-85 µm by 60-80 µm in diameter ( larger )
- hyaline shell are thick (thicker than nana )
- contain a 6-hooked oncosphere.
- polar filaments are absent
